On October 8, 2014 it is alleged that the accused Jody Burns, age 20, entered Shoppers Drug Mart at 44 Great Northern Road and did steal electronic equipment. On being approached by an employee the accused lunged at the employee who moved out of the way to stop the chance of being injured. The accused fled on foot. On October 9, 2014 it is alleged that the accused entered Savoy Jewellers in the Station Mall, selected a diamond ring and left the store without paying. Police located the accused a short time later and arrested him for theft under $5,000 and breach of probation.

While at the police station further charges were laid as a result of the accused’s action at Shoppers Drug Mart on October 8, 2014. Upon being searched the ring taken in the theft at Savoy Jewellers was located on his person. The accused was charged with robbery, breach of probation and possession of stolen property. The accused will appear in bail court on October 10, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On October 9, 2014, city police apprehended a male subject driving a vehicle in the area of Huron Street and St. Georges Avenue with reported stolen license plates on his vehicle. A check of the accused revealed that the accused was on court ordered condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The accused was arrested for possession of stolen property and breach of probation. The accused will appear in court on November 17, 2014 at 10 a.m.

On October 9, 2014, city police responded to a domestic violence matter in the west end of the city. The male accused, age 32 was arrested for two dated assaults. It is alleged that between June 14 and July 4, 2014 after a verbal argument the accused punched the victim in the eye in the eye causing swelling. Further it is alleged that between August 1, and August 31, 2014 the accused again after a verbal argument the accused grabbed the victim by the arm causing bruising. The accused will appear in bail court on October 10, 2014 at 10 a.m.
