Impaired Driver
28-year old Matthew Baker of Fredericton, New Brunswick was arrested just after 9 pm last night and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. A citizen called police to report a possible impaired driver. It is alleged that the driver was traveling westbound on Queen Street East and had driven through two red lights. City Police stopped the vehicle as the driver was turning the wrong way onto Albert Street East. When officers spoke to the driver they noted that the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The accused will appear in court on November 28th.
Break & Enter
One break and enter was reported in the last 24-hour period. A home in the 100 block of Bruce Street was entered yesterday between 12 noon and 4 pm. An X-box and games were taken.
City Police received several reports of acts of mischief yesterday:
1) Home Depot on Great Northern Road reported that the back walls of the store had been spray-painted.
2) Yesterday afternoon just before 12 noon 2 males and a female smashed a window out of a vehicle that was parked in a lot in the 600 block of Wellington Street East. It is unknown if anything was taken. A witness in the area advised that one of the males had long black hair and a white shirt. The suspects fled the area on foot.
3) A vehicle was keyed yesterday during the daytime hours while it was parked in the 200 block of Queen Street East.
4) Just before 3 am a window was noticed to be broken at North 82.
