On October 30, 2015 at 2:47am police arrested 25 year old Kristiani MATTILA of Hudson St. It is alleged that the accused attended a residence on Patrick Street and broke into a detached garage by forcing open a back window and then broke into the residence by pushing open a basement window.
The accused was located a short distance away from the area with the assistance of the K9 unit.
At the time of his arrest, it was determined that the accused had consumed alcohol and was bound by the conditions of a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behavior and to abstain absolutely from the consumption of alcohol.
The accused has been charged with two counts of break and enter and two counts of breach of probation. The accused appeared in bail court this morning.
On October 29, 2015, city police responded to a domestic matter in the area of Old Garden River Road. Investigation revealed that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation. It is alleged that a 27-year-old male assaulted his female partner. The victim attempted to leave but was thrown to the floor. The accused also allegedly caused damage to several items owned by the victim. The accused also is alleged to have threatened to cause death to the victim’s pet cat. Police arrested the accused for assault, mischief, threatening to cause harm or death to an animal and forcible confinement. The accused will appear in bail court on October 30, 2015 at 10 a.m.
On July 8, 2015 two break and enters were reported to sheds in the area of Brown Street. It is alleged that that two sheds were entered and lawn equipment and gas cans and accessories were removed. Through further police investigation blood samples helped to identify the identity of the accused. On October 29, 2015 the accused Ethan Jordan Pine age 23, turned himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. The accused was charged with break and enter X 2. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 30, 2015 at 9 a.m.
On October 28, 2015, city police investigated an alleged assault that occurred at a local secure facility. It is alleged that David Nadon age 21 assaulted the victim by punching the victim. The accused was arrested on October 29, 2015 for assault and will appear in bail court on October 30, 2015 at 10 a.m.
On October 29, 2015, city police responded to a domestic relate matter in the east end of town. It is alleged that a female accused age 28, attended at her ex-spouses residence. The accused is on probation not to communicate, not to attend the residence of the victim and to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The accused was arrested by police for breach of probation X 3 and is scheduled to appear in court on December 2, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.
On October 29, 2015, city police responded to a domestic matter in the area of Chapple Street. Investigation revealed that the accused male age 57 attended the residence of his ex-girlfriends when he is directed by the courts not to. Further conditions are for the accused not to communicate with the victim and keep the peace and be good. The accused was arrested for breach of probation X 3. The accused will appear in bail court on October 30, 2015 at 10 a.m.
On October 28, 2015 a female age 31, walked into a local store in the Station Mall and concealed items of clothing in a bag and left the store. The accused Chantel Benoit [is alleged to have] made no attempt to pay for the items. It is alleged that video surveillance captured the incident. On October 29, 2015 police arrested the accused for theft under $5,000. During the arrest the accused [allegedly] resisted officers and was in an intoxicated state. The accused was further arrested for resisting arrest. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on November 30, 2015 at 9 a.m.
On October 29, 2015, city police responded to a call of a theft of a purse in the downtown location. Investigation revealed that an ex-boyfriend allegedly stole the purse of his ex-girlfriend and fled the area. Later in the evening police located the accused at the victim’s residence. The accused age 35 was on a recognizance with conditions not to communicate with the victim, not to be at the residence of the accused and not to consume alcohol. Police arrest the accused for three counts of breach of a recognizance and theft under $5,000. The accused will appear in bail court on October 30, 2015 at 10 a.m.
