On September 6, 2013 in the early morning hours, a vehicle was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Elmwood Ave. Stolen was a 2004 Honda Element black in colour. This morning a resident of a home on Lansdowne Ave.

On September 6, 2013 in the early morning hours, a vehicle was stolen from a home in the 100 block of Elmwood Ave. Stolen was a 2004 Honda Element black in colour.

This morning a resident of a home on Lansdowne Ave. advised Police that their home was broken into. Thieves made off with numerous items including an X-Box, perfume and make-up.

In separate theft complaint thieves stole two down riggers from a boat that was parked outside a residence on Douglas St.

Arrests:

On September 5, 2013 at approximately 4:00pm officers from patrol services arrested and charged a 45 year old male for mischief under $5000 in regards to a domestic incident.  It is alleged the accused attended a centrally located address where he knew his ex-girlfriend to be.  The accused then caused mischief to her vehicle by letting air out of the tires rendering the vehicle inoperable.  He will be appearing in court September 6, 2013.

On September 5, 2013 at approximately 6:45pm patrol officers attended in the Macs Mart parking lot located at 647 Second Line West for a report of a motor vehicle collision possibly involving an impaired driver.  Investigation revealed that 63 year old Brian FARRELL of 61 Alden Road was attempting to back his vehicle into a parking spot when he struck an adjacent parked car.  When speaking with the accused, officers developed reasonable grounds to believe that his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.   Farrell was arrested and charged with impaired driving and operating a motor vehicle while having consumed alcohol over the legal limit.  He is scheduled to appear in court October 7, 2013.

On September 5, 2013 at approximately 9:45pm city police received a report of a Silver Chevy pickup truck being driven erratically in the area of Wallace Terrace and Maretta Street. A short time later patrol officers in the area located a vehicle matching that description and conducted a traffic stop.  Officers found the driver of that vehicle to be under the influence of alcohol. As a result of the investigation 22 year old Johnathan Tyler Daynard of 129 Birch Point Rd, Echo Bay was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while having consumed alcohol over the legal limit.  He is scheduled to appear in court October 7, 2013.
