Several Sault Ste. Marie Police Service officers and vehicles, including the Ballistic Armoured Tactical Transport (BATT) vehicle, are on scene near the intersection of Second Line West and Farwell Terrace.

Police are dealing with an incident involving a barricaded person, said Lincoln Louttit, Sault Police spokesperson, speaking with SooToday.

“It’s an active incident and we’re doing our best to resolve it peacefully. We would urge members of the public to please avoid the area if they can. It’s a high traffic area. We urge people to avoid the area and allow police to do their job and hopefully resolve this peacefully,” Louttit said.

The incident was called in just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Louttit said.
