On May 29, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 25-year-old Kyla Morningstar with operation while impaired.

Around 1:30 a.m. officers attended the scene of a two-vehicle collision near the Pim Street and MacDonald Avenue intersection. The accused was driving northbound on Pim Street and collided into the back of another northbound vehicle. The two drivers were the only occupants of each vehicle and were treated by EMS at the scene.

Upon speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe her ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol and she was arrested. She later provided two samples into an approved device, registering two fail results.

She is charged with,

  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug

She was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on July 4, 2022.
