A 33-year-old is facing impaired charges after Sault Police say they spotted a vehicle drive over a median while attempting to make a right turn.

Cops pulled over the vehicle at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday in the area of Trunk and Black roads.

“Upon speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service.

Multiple breath samples registered over the legal limit, police allege.

Michael Subotin is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on Feb. 12, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Subotin is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
