A 33-year-old is facing impaired charges after a report early this morning of a running vehicle with the driver asleep at the wheel.
Around 3:20 a.m., someone phoned 911 to report an individual asleep at the wheel of a vehicle in the 600 block of Trunk Road.
Police say when officers arrived, they found a person asleep at the wheel and the vehicle in drive.
Officers woke the driver and suspected he was impaired, police say.
Multiple breath samples were taken, all of which registered above the legal limit.
Michael Bell is charged with:
- operation while impaired - drug and/or alcohol
- operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80+)
He was released on an appearance notice and is schedule back in court on Sept. 16.
The allegations have not been tested in court and Bell is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
