A 32-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop in the west end early Sunday morning.

Sault Police say officers were on patrol at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 26 when they pulled over a vehicle in the area of Wallace Terrace and Roosevelt Avenue.

After speaking to the driver, officers developed grounds to believe he was impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.

After arresting the man, police allege he refused to respond to three separate demands for a breath sample.

Brandon Laford is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
  • Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled back in court on Jan. 8, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Laford is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
