Anishinabek, Batchewana Police arrest man from Richards Landing, another from Sault

First Nations police services east of the Sault arrested two men wanted on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop on Sunday.

Anishinabek Police with the Garden River Detachment along with Batchewana Police conducted a traffic stop Dec. 16 just after 3:30 p.m. on Frontenac Street in Batchewana First Nation. 

Police say they located Thomas Rowat, 31, of Richards Landing and Marc Halford, 48, of Sault Ste. Marie. 

Both men were arrested on outstanding warrants, police say. 

Officers also located 7 grams of suspected cocaine, according to a news release from Anishinabek Police.

Batchewana Police released Rowat on an undertaking for a future court date. Halford was held for bail court.
