Man charged with mischief after disrupting court process

Police say the accused also made an unnecessary call to 911

Police have charged Dustin Middaugh following an incident that occurred at the Sault Ste. Marie Courthouse on the afternoon of Feb. 2. 

Police say the 41-year-old attended the courthouse at approximately 1 p.m., and began yelling and disrupting courthouse staff.

When asked to leave, police say the accused called 911 "without reason or emergency."

"Officers attempted to place the accused under arrest, but the accused refused and struggled with officers," says a news release. "Officers were able to get the accused under control and the accused was arrested."

As a result, Dustin Middaugh has been charged with: 

• mischief
• harassing telephone calls
• cause a disturbance
• resist peace officer (three counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
