Local man facing charges following parking lot altercation

On Oct. 27, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19-year-old Brandon Bovingdon of Whitney Avenue for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

It is alleged that just after 2 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2018 the accused was operating a motor vehicle in a parking lot in the 200-block of Queen Street East at a high rate of speed.

The accused was involved in an altercation with some people present at the scene and then drove his vehicle towards a male victim striking the victim with the vehicle.  The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the impact and police were contacted.

On Oct. 27, 2018 the accused was taken into custody and charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.  He was held for bail court.
