While patrolling laneways in the downtown area on Friday afternoon, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Bicycle Patrol Unit came across a man who was unresponsive and showing signs of an opioid overdose.

The officers administered naloxone and performed CPR.

After performing CPR for several minutes, the man began to respond and regained consciousness.

The man, who is expected to recover, was taken to hospital by EMS for further treatment.
