Local police lay 33 charges during Canada Road Safety Week

On May 19-21 officers were deployed on focused patrols to monitor and address traffic concerns

Sault Ste. Marie Police conducted 50 traffic stops over three days as part of Canada Road Safety Week (May 19-21).

In a press release issued this morning, police say 33 charges were laid, including 31 charges for speeding under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police also say one charge was laid for driving without a current validation permit and one charge was laid for driving with an improperly displayed validation permit.
