London man arrested with toy gun on Great Northern: police

A 26-year-old from London, Ont. is facing multiple weapons charges after allegedly pulling out a replica toy gun on Great Northern Road.

On Wednesday night around 11:45, police say they were alerted to an altercation between a person with a gun and two other individuals in the 400 block of Great Northern Road.

Police say the weapon turned up to be an airsoft gun, which closely resembles a real gun. It is alleged the suspect was also carrying a collapsible baton and approximately 21 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, with an approximate street value of $2,110.

Jared Pineda is charged with:

  • Possession of Weapons for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Failure to Comply with Undertaking

Pineda was released on bail and is scheduled to return to court on August 14, 2023. None of the allegations have been tested in court and he is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
