Man, 52, charged with robbery from business on Great Northern Road

Police say accused pushed and punched a security officer when confronted about theft

A 52-year-old man has been charged with robbery by Sault Ste. Marie Police Patrol Services.

Around 3 p.m. July18, 911 communicators received a report of a robbery at a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road. Officers were dispatched to the business. Upon arrival, officers found the accused was already in custody of security. An investigation revealed the accused had pushed and punched a security officer when confronted about leaving the business with items they had not paid for. The accused was arrested.

Scott Erdman is charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 16.
