A 26-year-old man is facing multiple weapons charges after allegedly pointing a BB gun at a person in Jamestown.

Sault police were called to the area of Queen Street West and James Street at approximately 6:30 p.m. last night to respond to an argument involving a gun.

“Upon arrival, officers located someone matching the description of the person with the gun and identified them as the accused,” says a news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. “Further investigation revealed the accused had pointed the weapon at the victim during their argument.”

David Kennedy is charged with:

  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Uttering Threats

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on Oct. 16.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Kennedy is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
