A person was sent to hospital over the weekend after a stranger allegedly punched them on Chapple Avenue.

Sault Police say the assault occurred around 7 a.m. Saturday after a person was asked to leave a property.

The victim sustained minor injuries, police say.

Officers located the suspect a short time later in the 200 block of McNabb Street.

Justin Tessier, 35, is charged with assault.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on July 15.

The allegation has not been tested in court and Tessier is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
