A friendly reminder to local thieves: It’s probably not a good idea to try to sell your loot to a pawn shop.

Sault police arrested a 57-year-old man this week after the owner of a stolen projector unit found the item up for sale at a city pawn shop.

Police say the owner’s tip led them to a phone number for the suspect, who turned himself in at police headquarters.

Anthony Devincenzo is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime (under $5,000). Released on an appearance notice, he is scheduled back in court on August 21, 2023.

The allegation has not been tested in court and Devincenzo is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
