Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged a 37-year-old man with assault with a weapon after a staff member at his residence was threatened with a hammer.

In a press release, police say that around 9:40 a.m. on July 8, they were called to a residence in the 100 block of Chapple Avenue.

While in the lobby, Darryl McMillan, who lives in the building, allegedly made the threat.

He faces charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats and failure to comply with a probation order.

He was released on an undertaking, and is scheduled to appear in court in September.
