Police have arrested and charged Ryan Brady after a threat was made on Dec. 17 regarding the Sault Area Hospital.
The public was urged to avoid the area Friday evening as a heavy police presence was confirmed at the hospital.
A news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that the 31-year-old accused was arrested at his residence following an investigation into the incident.
Brady stands charged with uttering threats and mischief, and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14.
"Further investigation determined the threat did not pose a threat to public safety," the release said.
