Man charged after death threats made on social media: Police

A news release issued today by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service states that Darryl McMillan is alleged to have made threats to kill people via social media.

The 36-year-old accused was arrested yesterday and remanded into custody following a bail court appearance.

Full text of the news release follows:

On Aug. 12, 2021, officers with Patrol Services charged 36-year-old Darryl McMillan with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.

On Aug. 12, 2021, officers received information the accused was threatening to kill people on social media platforms. An investigation began and officers developed grounds to believe the accused was threatening to harm people.

He was located at his residence and arrested.

He is charged with uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm and failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking.

He was held for bail court. At bail he was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 16, 2021.
