Man faces theft charges after wallet goes missing

On Jan. 4, 2018 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 47-year-old Jerry Leveille of Queen Street East for theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that on Dec. 18, 2017, the accused stole a wallet from a person at a downtown business. The accused then used the tap feature on a bank card to make just over $80 in purchases and took $200 cash from the wallet.

Officers located the accused on Jan. 4, 2018 and he was taken into custody. He has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on Feb. 12, 2018.
