Man found sleeping behind wheel of vehicle in snowbank: police

The 38-year-old faces impaired charges as a result

A local man faces impaired charges after an incident that occurred earlier this week, Sault Ste. Marie Police say in a news release issued today.

Police say they responded to a call around 6:50 a.m. yesterday morning of a vehicle in a snowbank at the corner of Goulais Avenue and Third Line West.

On Jan. 4, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 38-year-old Justin Fabbro with impaired operation.

Around 6:50 a.m. officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a snowbank at the corner of Goulais Avenue and Third Line West. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found one man in the vehicle asleep in the driver’s seat with the vehicle off.

Officers identified the accused and upon speaking with him, developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by drug.

He was arrested and charged with:

  • Impaired Operation – Alcohol and/or Drug
  • Breach of Recognizance

He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on March 7, 2022
