Man stole $1K worth of tools in Jamestown: police

A suspected tool thief was arrested over the weekend after a break and enter in Jamestown.

On Saturday at around 9 p.m., Sault Police responded to a reported theft a residence in the 600 block of Queen Street West.

Officers determined that someone had broken into the property and stolen approximately $1,000 worth of tools before fleeing the scene, police say.

A suspected was later identified and arrested at his residence.

Derick Nadeau, 46, is charged with break and enter and theft under $5,000.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled back in court on Dec. 18, 2023.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Nadeau is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
