Mischief investigation leads to assault charges

A man who gestured throwing an object at police wound up in custody charged with assault. 

Sault Ste. Marie Patrol Services was called on Dec. 9 to investigate a mischief disturbance in the 200 block of Glasgow Avenue, according to a news release.

Officers arrived finding broken items in the driveway and a man inside the building. He made a motion as if to throw an object at police and struggled with officers when they attempted to intervene, the release said.

Charged with assault with a weapon, assault peace officer, resist peace officer and mischief under $5,000 is 43-year-old Anthony LeClair, the release stated.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
