Man with mushrooms broke into residence, damaged property: police

A 38-year-old is facing multiple charges after a Thursday morning break-in on Salisbury Avenue.

Sault Police were dispatched to the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m. for a report of a break-and-enter. 

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had damaged property and was in possession of psilocybin mushrooms.

Benjamin Halcrow is charged with:

  • Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear back in court on Dec. 11, 2023.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and Halcrow is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
