On August, 4 police were called to a west end residence in regards to a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed that the 43-year-old male allegedly grabbed the female victim by the arm and throat causing minor injuries. The male was arrested and charged with assault. He will be appearing in bail court on August 5, 2014.
City Detectives attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and added charges of assault with a weapon and threatening death against a 31-year-old male. It is further alleged that on July 24 the accused waved a machete in front of the victim and threatened to kill her. He will be attending Bail Court in answer to the new charges.
On the evening of August 3, 2014 the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to reports of a male and female arguing in the east end of the city. Investigation by responding officers revealed allegations that the female was assaulted by the male. As a result, a 23-year-old male was arrested and will be appearing in WASH court August 4, 2014.
City Police arrested the accused Shaun David Mearow without incident on August 4, 2014 at an address on Albert St. West. He will be appearing in WASH court this morning. The city police would like to thank the public’s assistance with this matter.
