City police charged 4 persons with impaired driving over the weekend. Sarah Marie Mitchell, age 18, of 120 Hwy 552, Goulais River, is charged with impaired and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Police observed a vehicle with damage to the right front bumper and no headlight. Upon stopping the vehicle, police became aware the driver was under the influence of alcohol. It is alleged that she struck a pole on Great Northern Road and then left the area.
Also charged with consuming over the legal limit is William Everett Smith, age 45, of 815 Oakwood, Howell, Michigan. The driver was trying to enter Canada on Dec 21 around 8:10a.m. An odour of alcohol was detected by the customs officer who called city police.
Terrance David Constantineau, age 44, of 1351 Great Northern Road has been charged with impaired driving, consuming over the legal limit and operating a motor vehicle while disqualified. He was observed going through a red light at John Street and St. Andrews Terrace.
