On January 25, 2016 City Police arrested John Paul Marcello age 28 of Shannon rd. It’s alleged that the accused failed to complete the terms of his probation. He has been charged with one count of breach of probation and will be appearing in court on March 07, 2016
Sometime between January 21 and January 24 a residence in the 400 block of Northern Avenue was broken into. It is unknown at this time what was taken.
On January 25, 2016 shortly after 1:30 a.m. officers from Patrol Services stopped a 16-year-old male in the downtown area. Officers determined that the male had property that was stolen from a vehicle in the downtown area. The stolen property was returned to the owner. The male was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft under $5,000. He will appear in court on March 1.
On January 24 members from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service were set up on Lyons Avenue by Farwell Terrace conducting RIDE checks. 34-year-old Dustin Middaugh of Second Line West refused to provide a breath sample and was charged with one count of fail to provide a breath sample. He will appear in court on February 29.
On January 24, 2016 city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center and arrested Michael Todd Yaroshuk for four charges that had occurred on January 22, 2016. It is alleged that the accused assaulted a male by pushing him to the ground after a verbal confrontation. The accused was also on probation and was charged with three counts of breach of probation. The accused is currently on an intermittent sentence from previous charges. The accused will appear in bail court on January 25, 2016 at 10 a.m.
