27 Yr Old Charged With Assault With Weapon
27-year old Miranda Corbiere of 2-680 Portage Lane was arrested on the 23rd and charged with one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on the 22nd of July the accused assaulted a female known to her by kicking her and hitting the victim with a beer bottle. The victim required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Theft Over $5000
32-year old Roger Chabot of 162 Sutton Place was arrested on the 24th of July just after 2:30 am and has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of break and enter and commit an offence. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Prince Wind Farm Project in Prince Township and allegedly stole 4 spools of copper wire from a trailer in the area. Officers stopped the accused in his vehicle on Second Line West and noted the copper wire. The accused was subsequently arrested.
Theft Under $5000
22-year old Michael Bjornaa of no fixed address was arrested on the 22nd of July just before 4:30 am and charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of trespass by night, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession of housebreaking tools, one count of flight from police and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that patrol officers observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Grosvenor Avenue and Bruce Street. Officers activated their roof lights and attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled. The vehicle was stopped at the dead end of Trelawne Avenue after a short pursuit. The driver fled from the scene and officers gave chase. The accused was located hiding under a table in a backyard. The accused was arrested for a number of offences and when officers searched the accused they located a small quantity of cocaine on the accused.
Perpetual Shoplifting
On the 21st of July officers from Patrol Service and Investigation Services arrested 30-year old Richard Gabrylewicz of no fixed address and charged him with two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of attempt theft under $5,000. It is alleged that on July 18th the accused stole two Motomaster eliminator solar panels from Canadian Tire located on McNabb Street. The two panels were recovered by store security on that date as they chased the accused from the store. It is alleged that on July 16th the accused also attempted to steal an electric scooter from the same store but was scared off by store security. It is further alleged that on May 30th the accused stole a generator from the same store and again the property was recovered by store security who gave chase. The accused was arrested and released with a court date of August 25th. However, the accused was again arrested by City Police again on the 23rd of July in the afternoon and was charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that on the 22nd of July the accused attended at the Wal-Mart Store located on Great Northern Road and stole an air conditioning unit. It is further alleged that on the 23rd of July the accused again attended at Wal-Mart and stole a second air conditioning unit. The accused was on conditions and allegedly failed to notify a change of address. Mr. Gabrylewicz will appear in bail court this morning.
24 Yr Old Woman Charged With Assault With Weapon
24-year old Alice Waboose of 105-555 Albert Street West was arrested on the 23rd of July and charged with one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on the 22nd of July the accused assaulted a female known to her by kicking her and hitting the victim with a beer bottle. The victim required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Break & Enters
City Police received a number of reports of break and enters over the weekend:
1) Between the 20th of July at 8 pm and the 21st of July at 2 pm a home on Elmwood Avenue was entered and a coin collection was taken.
2) On the 21st of July a homeowner on Wardell Road reported an attempt break and enter to the residence.
3) Between the 20th of July at 6 pm and the 21st of July at 11:45 pm a home on Grove Crescent was entered. A DVD was taken as well as a Playstation and Playstation games were taken.
4) On the 21st of July between 2 pm and 11:45 pm a residence on Gore Street was entered and a small quantity of cash was taken.
5) Sometime overnight between the 22nd and the 23rd of July a home in the 100 block of Albert Street West was entered. It is unknown at this time what was taken.
6) On the 23rd of July officers attended on East Balfour Street for a break and enter to a garage. Sometime within the last two weeks persons entered the garage and stole a Honda motorbike, tools and a pioneer stereo.
7) Sometime between 12 noon on the 21st of July and 4 pm on the 23rd of July a home on Pilgrim Street was entered and it is unknown what was taken.
8) Sometime between the 21st of July and the 23rd of July thieves broke into a home on Fields Square and stole some jewellery, money and video games.

1) Ensure someone in checking your house on a daily basis.
2) Install motion lights in darker areas of your property and over all doors.

4) Do not keep valuables such as jewellery in your home when you are away. Invest in a safety deposit box or secure a safe in your residence.
5) Let your neighbours know you are going to be away and have them keep an extra eye out.
