Two persons to appear in bail court:
On Friday March 9th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 25-year-old male for assault and breach of probation. It is alleged that on March 8th 2012 the accused assaulted a corrections officer at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre. It is further alleged that the accused was on probation at the time of this offence.
Jordan Berry, age 25, of 555 Rexdale Blvd, Etobicoke, is charged with one count of assault and one count of breach of probation.
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 45-year-old male for assault and.
It is alleged that the accused assaulted his girlfriend and then used force to choke the victim.
The accused is charged with one count of assault and one count of overcoming resistance in commission of an offence. The victim did not require medical assistance.
Female arrested for theft and warrant:
On Saturday march 10th members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old female for theft. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Mac’s Mart Store at 647 Second Line W. and stole $ 37.01 worth of candies.
It is further alleged that the accused was wanted on warrants for attempt fraud and possession of property obtained by crime. Krystal Hart, age 27, of 549 Cathcart St. is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000, one count of attempt fraud and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.
Ms. Hart is to appear in court on April 23rs at 9:00 am.
Male arrested for drive over 80 mgs:
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 59-year-old male for drive over 80 mgs.
It is alleged that the accused was operating a snow machine on the St. Mary’s River when his machine fell through the ice. The Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department attended and rescued the male from the water.
Upon police arrival it was noted that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. Marcel Fluery, age 59, of 111 Ransome Dr. is charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs. Mr. Fluery is to appear in court on April 23rd at 9:00 am.
Notice to the public:
Persons riding their snow machines should pay special attention to weather conditions. The recent warm weather has resulted in a few machines going through the ice. Make sure the lake or river you plan on riding on has sufficient ice cover.
Male arrested for mischief:
On Saturday March 10th members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 27-year-old male for mischief. It is alleged that the accused male attended at Reggie’s Bar, 458 Queen St. E. ands damaged two windows.
Chico Rubiano, age 27, of 606 Queen St. W. Apt. # 1 is charged with one count of mischief under
$5,000. Mr. Rubiano is to appear in court on April 23rd at 9:00 am.
Property crimes:
Break and enters:
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service received twelve reports of break and enters over the weekend. Entries were reported to the following locations:
*400 block of Pim St. (two break-ins),
*200 block of Second Line W.,
*200 block of Great Northern Rd.,
*100 block of Dacey Rd.,
*400 block of Queen St. W.
*4,000 block of Second Line W.,
*1,000 block of Great Northern Rd.,
*200 block of Bruce St.,
*100 block of Northern Ave,
*300 block of John St.
*100 block of Second Line E.
Cash, electronics and tools were reported stolen.
Mischief:
A door window was smashed in the 200 block of Peoples Rd.
Theft:
Jewellery was stolen from a residence in the 700 block of Third Line E.
Vehicles were reported entered in the 100 block of Amherst St, the 100 block of Dacey Rd and the 100 block of Chambers Ave. Electronics were reported stolen.
