On the morning of March 17, 2014 Police Officers spoke to William MacDonald, age 30, of 634 Connaught Ave. Apt 106.

A police records check revealed an arrest warrant had been issued for him for failing to appear in court on an outstanding Theft under $5,000.00 and Breach of Probation charges.

MacDonald was arrested and charged with Failing to Attend Court. His new court date is April 14th.

On the 17th of March at approximately 3:20 a.m., city police received a 911 regarding a robbery at The Canadian Motor Hotel on Pim Street.

A lone male entered the business and threatened the female clerk with a gun. A small undisclosed amount of money was taken. The male fled on foot. The clerk was not physically harmed. 

Officers from Patrol Services and the K-9 Unit attended in the area and attempted to locate the suspect. The male is described as being in his late twenties or early thirties. He had dark brown hair, was skinny and was wearing a medium blue jacket with black stripes. The investigation is continuing.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers attended at an address on MacDonald Avenue for a break and enter and assault that had occurred. It is alleged that a 19-year-old male attended at the address, kicked in the door to the residence and once inside assaulted a male victim by punching him. The victim was injured but did not require medical treatment. It is further alleged that the accused damaged a closet door in the residence. 19-year-old Zachary Torcaso of Joel Court was arrested a short time later and was charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence and one count of assault. He will appear in court on April 14, 2014.

On the 16th of March, 2014, a residence on Wallace Terrace was broken into. Items taken include a Nintendo Wii , games, DVD’s and movies.

Derick Nadeau, 38 years old of Doncaster Road, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft. It is alleged that he attended at Shoppers Drug Mart at the Cambrian Mall and stole cologne and also attended at Canadian Tire and attempted to steal a vacuum. He was located by officers a short distance away from the businesses. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 28, 2014.

Shannon Edwards, 42, was arrested at her residence of Elmwood Avenue. on outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court on a theft under charge. She is being held for bail court this morning.

A break in was reported on Herrick Street. A laptop and television were reported stolen.
