Breach Of Probation
A 31-year old male will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested on the 26th of March and being charged with 2 counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that earlier this month the accused attended at his ex-girlfriends place and stood outside of her apartment calling her by name in an attempt to communicate with her. It is also alleged that the accused called her residence a number of times in an attempt to communicate with the victim. At the time of the offences the accused was on probation with conditions not to communicate with the female.
Assault Charge
A 27-year old male was arrested on the 24th of March and charged with assault. It is alleged on the evening of the 24th the accused got into an argument with his wife in their centrally located residence. It is alleged that the male grabbed the victim’s arm and twisted it. The male has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in bail court this morning.
Impaired Driving
42-year old Randy Steinburg of 27 Albert Street East was arrested on the 25th of March and charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that around 6:30 pm the accused was driving a car that pulled out of a parking lot on March Street when he allegedly struck another vehicle that was traveling north bound on March Street. When officers arrived they detected an odour of alcohol coming from the accused. The accused was subsequently arrested. No one was injured in the collision and damage to both vehicles was described as light. Mr. Steinburg will appear in court on May 1st.
Possesion Of Stolen Property
22-year old Anthony Falco of 603-250 Albert Street East was arrested on the 24th of March and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that officers located three stolen Kenwood speakers and a DVD player, which had been reported stolen on the 23rd of March from a residence in the 100 block of Cathcart Street. The accused will appear in court on May 1st.
Youth Charged With Assault
A 15-year old youth was arrested on the 25th of March and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on that date the accused assaulted another youth by pushing the victim to the ground a number of times in the City’s west end. The victim did not require any medical assistance at the time. The accused will appear in court on May 2nd.
Theft At Station Mall
25-year old Lorraine Brooks of 319 Farwell Terrace was charged on the 25th of March with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attended at the Sears Store in the Station Mall and stole clothing worth just over $110. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over the City Police. The accused will appear in court on May 1st.
Break And Enters
Over the weekend City Police received 3 reports of break and enters:
1) On the 25th of March a homeowner in the 700 block of Pine Street returned home and found that someone had put paint over his or her walls as well as clothing.
2) Between 1 pm and 2:30 pm on March 24th a home in the 700 block of McKenzie Avenue was entered and thieves made off with a Sony Playstation, a DVD player and an MP3 player.
3) Between the 10th of March and the 26th of March a home in the 200 block of Albert Street East was entered. Thieves made off with a 27” TV, a 19” TV and a set of computer speakers as well as other electronics.
