Afternoon news City Police picked up 25 year old Shawn LeBlanc of 115 Chestnut Street on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged Mr. LeBlanc failed to report for fingerprints as a result of a mischief charge back in 2011.

City Police picked up 25 year old Shawn LeBlanc of 115 Chestnut Street on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged Mr. LeBlanc failed to report for fingerprints as a result of a mischief charge back in 2011. He will be appearing in Provincial Court on June 24th.

Early this morning, the City Police received a request for assistance from the Temiscaming detachment of the Surete de Quebec Police to locate and apprehend a wanted male from their area. A 30 year old male from Kipawa Quebec was wanted for aggravated assault on a female in relation to a domestic incident. Further information was received that the wanted male was travelling by bus and would be passing through Sault Ste Marie. As a result, officers attended to the Greyhound Bus terminal and arrested the male in question without incident. He was brought to the City Police station and held awaiting pickup and transfer to Temiscaming to answer to their charges.

A break and enter was reported in the 500 block of Wellington St. West between 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Entry was gained through an open basement window and a 42 inch television, several bottles of perfume and costume jewelry was taken.

A 42 year old male will appear in bail court Tuesday a.m. charged with 3 counts of breach of probation after attending the residence of a woman he is on conditions of a probation order to stay away from.

A robbery was reported at 3:21 this morning.  A male victim reported that at approximately 2:20 a.m. he and another male were on Goulais Avenue near the Mac’s Mart walking towards Wallace Terrace when they were approached by 3 males who brandished a knife and stole his iPod. One suspect is described as short with a backpack and possibly a red and white jacket, a second suspect is described as approximately 6’5” tall with short hair, wearing his hat backwards, sweat pants and a sweater. No information on the third suspect.  The 3 fled across the field in the area.
