Outstanding Warrants

32-year old Ryan Rains of 32 Manilla Terrace was arrested on Friday afternoon on outstanding warrants. The accused was arrested at the airport and taken into custody without incident. Mr. Rains was wanted for one count of failing to attend court in October of this year. The fail to attend court charge stemmed from initial charges of mischief and possession of weapon for purpose dangerous to the public back in April of this year.


Breach of Release Orders

24-year old Justin Lewis of 58 Gibbs Street was arrested and charged on November 13th with two counts of breach of release orders. It is alleged that the accused was outside of his residence after an 11 pm to 7 am curfew, as well as consuming alcohol when prohibited by conditions on a release order.


Male Charged with Assault

34-year old Jeffrey Mayhew of 519 John Street was arrested on the 11th of November and charged with one count of assault and one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused threatening to burn down the home of a female person known to him. It is further alleged that the accused assaulted the female victim by head butting her in the face. The accused and the female are known to each other and the incident occurred in the victim’s centrally located residence.

2 Males Caught Going Through Vehicles

On the 13th oft November around 2 am City Police were dispatched to the area of Elmwood Avenue after a caller reported 2 males going through vehicles in the area. Officers located and arrested 18-year old Tyler Seaton of 364 Albert Street West and charged him with one count of breach of probation, one count of breach of a release order and one count of obstruct police. It is alleged that the accused provided a false name to the officers and was also on a release order with a curfew. Mr. Seaton will appear in bail court this morning. A 15-year old youth was also arrested and charged with one count of breach of probation under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of attempt theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of housebreaking tools. When searched officers located a camera and a screwdriver in the youth’s pockets. The youth will appear in court on December 20th.
City Police are investigating a robbery that occurred on the 13th of November at the Eastside Confectionary at 67 Eastern Avenue. Two males entered the store just before 8:30 pm and both pulled a knife on the lone clerk working in the store. The thieves made off with 10 king size packages of Dumaurier cigarettes and an undisclosed small amount of cash. The suspects fled the area on foot. The clerk was not harmed. The white male suspect was carrying a blue and white pillowcase. One male is described as being white, with blonde curly hair, acne scars, approximately 5’5” tall, slim build and around 16-17 years of age. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and jeans with “FUBU” on back. The second male is native, had dark, short hair, about 18 years old, clean shaven, 5”10” tall. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt. If you know who either of these suspects are call City Police at 949-6300 or Crime Stoppers at 942-7867. City Police received a number of break and enter reports over the weekend:

On November 11th officers took a report from a homeowner in the 100 block of Eden Square. Sometime overnight on the 10th and the evening hours of the 11th thieves broke into a garage but nothing appears taken.

Between November 6th and November 11th thieves entered a home in the 100 block of McAllen Street and stole some jewellery, including chains and rings.

On the 13th a homeowner in the 200 block of Letcher Street reported in the evening hour of that date someone entered the home and stole a wallet, DVD’s, and some keys. A long brown and black backpack was also taken.

Between the 12th of November at 6 pm and the 13th of November at 11:30 pm thieves entered a home in the 300 block of Huron Street and stole a Yamaha guitar and some morphine tablets.


On the 14th of November just before 1 pm thieves broke into the Queen Street West Variety Store located at 602 Queen Street West and stole a quantity of cigarettes. There are no suspects at this time in this matter.
