Patrol Officers today investigated an attempt break in at residence on Hynes St. Sometime over the weekend thevies attempt enter the residence. Anyone with information on this crime is encouraged to call the Sault Ste. Marie City Police.

On the 24th of October just after 2 p.m., a homeowner in the 1000 block of McNabb Street reported a break and enter to their residence. Items taken include a men’s Schwinn mountain bike and a .22 calibre airsoft pistol. 

On the 27th of October just before 2 a.m., a homeowner reported a break and enter to their residence on Amber Street. Nothing appears to have been taken.

Just after 2 a.m. this morning, city police attended at a break and enter to Peter’s Place on Great Northern Road. Cigars and jerky were taken. 

On the 25th of October camera equipment was reported taken from a vehicle on Turner Avenue.

On the 25th of October sunglasses, a GPS and a multi tool were taken from a vehicle on Prentice Avenue.

On October 26, 2014, city police attended at the No Frills Grocery Store to assist store security with a shoplifter. It is alleged that the accused Cindy Marie Morissette, age 35, was in the meat department and put a quantity of meat into her purse valued at $49.71 and left the store. She was apprehended by store security. Police continued the arrest and charged the accused with theft under $5000. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on December 1, 2014 at 9 a.m.

On October 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m., city police attended at a motor vehicle collision at Mcnabb Street and Great Northern Road involving three vehicles. The female driver of an eastbound black vehicle received minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. The other vehicles involved were a red car and a black SUV. City police are asking for witnesses to contact Cst. D. Simbirski at 705-949-6300 ext. 5191 or Traffic Services with any information regarding the collision.
