Male Charged with Assault A 20-year old male was arrested on the 2nd of October and charged with one count of assault and 4 counts of breach of a release order.
Male Charged with Assault

A 20-year old male was arrested on the 2nd of October and charged with one count of assault and 4 counts of breach of a release order. It is alleged that on the 28th of September the accused assaulted his girlfriend while at a west end residence by grabbing her neck while she was holding her young child as well as punching her in the head. It is also alleged that on the 30th of September the accused failed to attend at the station and sign in as required by a release document.

Threatening to Cause Death

A 39-year old male was arrested on October 2nd and charged with one count of assault, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that in July the accused threatened his estranged wife. It is further alleged that between July and October of this year the accused repeatedly harassed the victim by communicating with her. On the 1st of October it is alleged that the accused assaulted the victim by grabbing her by the arms.

Breach of a Release Order

30-year old Keith Angecomb of 191 Maple Street was arrested on the 1st of October around 10 am. It is alleged that the accused got into an argument with persons known to him in a downtown residence. When officers attended at the address a police query revealed that the accused was on a release order with conditions not to consume alcohol. It is alleged that the accused was under the influence of alcohol. The accused was subsequently charged with one count of breach of a release order.

Youth Charged with Mischief

A 13-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning. It is alleged that on the 2nd of October the accused became upset with family members and punched and kicked holes in the west end family residence. It is alleged that the accused also threatened to assault a family member with a piece of copper pipe as well as throwing a section of rebar at the front window of the residence narrowly missing the window pane. The accused has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of attempt mischief under $5,000 and one count of assault with a weapon.


Male Charged with Assault Against Girlfriend

A 24-year old male was arrested just after 2 am this morning. It is alleged that the accused got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend and picked up a mountain bike and pushed it at the victim. The victim ended up falling to the ground and was then dragged back into the apartment by the accused. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and two counts of breach of probation. The incident took place at a centrally located residence.

Theft Charges Laid

51-year old Dennis Theriault of 403-137 East Street was arrested September 30th around 6 pm and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the accused attempted to leave Sears in the Station Mall with a bottle of hand cream and a boxed set of watches. The accused was apprehended by store security and turned over to City Police. The accused will appear in court on October 31st.

Fraud Charges Laid Against Employee

On Friday afternoon officers from the Fraud Unit arrested Crystal Anich,22, of 2-161 Pim Street and charged her with one count of theft over $5,000. It is alleged that between September 1st and September 30th the accused did commit thefts while employed at Metallo’s Mini Mart at 147 Northern Avenue. It is alleged that the accused made fictitious returns for merchandise as well as taking interact purchases from customers but not entering the amount paid through the cash register. The loss to date is estimated at approximately $6,000. The accused will appear in court on October 31st.

Damaged Vehicles

City Police attended at U-Haul at 1329 Trunk Road on the 30th of September. It is alleged that between 6 pm on the 29th and 7 am on the 30th thieves damaged a number of vehicles and stole from them as well. 9 truck batteries were taken, 3 trucks had their windows smashed and it is also appears that thieves siphoned gas from some of the trucks. Between September 30 at 8 am and October 2nd at 5 pm City Police took the following break and enter reports:

1) On the 30th of September City Police attended at the Moose Lodge at 543 Trunk Road. It is alleged that sometime between 3:30 am and 7:30 am thieves broke into the Lodge and stole thirty 40-ounce bottles of liquor.

2) On the 30th of September between 1 am and 7 am thieves broke into a garage in the 100 block of Wallace Terrace but did not take anything.

3) Between noon hour on the 30th of September and 1 am on the 1st of October thieves broke into a residence in the 300 block of Cathcart Street but it does not appear that anything was taken.

4) Between September 30th and the evening hours of October 1st thieves broke into a residence in the 1500 block of Wellington Street East and stole TV’s, a DVD, a Play Station and games, as well as curling irons.

5) On the 2nd of October thieves entered a residence in the 500 block of Douglas Street and stole a laptop computer.

6) On the 2nd of October a homeowner in the 300 block of Old Garden River Road reported that their shed had been entered and a generator taken.
