No charges to be laid in pedestrian fatality

On the 4th of September 2016, shortly after 2 p.m., City Police responded to a collision involving a truck and an 84-year-old female pedestrian at the intersection of Bay and Bruce.

As a result of this collision the female pedestrian was transported to the Sault Area Hospital with serious injuries.

On the 9th of September 2016 the Sault Ste. Marie Police had learned that this female had succumbed to her injuries and passed away.

The investigation has revealed the pedestrian had crossed the roadway where crossing was prohibited and as a result no charges will be laid.
