July 27 update

On July 21, 2017, officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a female with regards to a theft incident in the 200 block of McNabb Street.

The accused at that time was identified as Sara Levesque. Officers now believe that the person in custody was not Sara Levesque but was a person who held herself out to be Ms. Levesque. 

Officers are now continuing this investigation and attempts to locate the accused are being conducted.

July 24 original Release

On July 21, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Sara Levesque of Pilgrim Street in relation to a theft.

It is alleged that on July 21, the accused attended a store in the 200 block of McNabb Street where she selected just over $100 in items and left the store without paying for them. 

The accused was apprehended by store security and held for police.

She has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on Aug. 28, 2017.
