Sault Ste. Marie Police arrested a 49-year-old on Thursday in connection to a theft investigation from earlier this month.

Officers with Patrol Services arrested Scott Erdman, who will face charged of theft under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

"It’s alleged on Aug. 3, 2021 the accused attended a business in the 200 block of Bruce Street and stole a dirt bike, valued at approximately $2,500," a police release issued Friday afternoon said. "It’s further alleged he took the bike to a residence and removed identifying markings on the dirt bike. The victims were able to recover the dirt bike later that day and reported the incident to police."

Erdman was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court in early-October.
