Police conduct search related to recent shooting investigation

Heavy police presence reported at Second Line and Walters Street

A heavy police presence in the area of Second Line and Walters Street is the result of a search warrant being conducted in relation to the recent shooting on Beverley Street, states a news release issued today.

Investigation into the May 29 shooting resulted in one suspect, 40-year-old Travis Parsons, being arrested and charged with attempted murder as well as a number of other weapons related offences.

An arrest warrant was issued for 37-year-old Eric Mearow who is also wanted for attempted murder.

Police warn the public that the weapon used during the May 29 shooting incident has not been recovered and Mearow should be considered armed and dangerous.

The investigation remains open and active, and anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Joe Addison at 705-949-6300 ext. 387.
