Police don't think shots fired on Douglas Street were random; no arrest yet

Sault Police are still searching for a suspect who fired multiple gunshots while walking along Douglas Street early Saturday morning. 

In a news release issued today, police say they don’t believe the incident was random “but investigators are working to confirm this information.”

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 16.

Although no injuries were reported, SooToday has confirmed that bullets hit at least one house and a pickup truck parked in the driveway.

Anyone who may have dashcam, doorbell camera or surveillance video of the area during the time the shooting was reported, the moments leading up to it, or afterwards, is urged to contact Detective Constable Corey Brown at 705-949-6300, ext. 359.
