Police lay impaired charge after vehicle crashes into driveway wall

Sault Ste. Marie Police have arrrested someone for impaired driving after an incident that took place over the weekend. 

Police say they repsonded to a call around 5:24 p.m. on Sunday in regards to a single-vehicle crash. The accused allegedly drove into a ditch in the 3000 block of Second Line W. then struck and damaged a retaining wall in a private driveway. The vehicle also sustained significant damage.

When they arrived, police concluded that the accused was impaired, which was later confirmed when the accused failed two breathalyzer tests.

As a result, [Charge withdrawn], was arrested and charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs and impaired driving blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 23.
