Police respond to break-in at Korah Road business

One person was arrested early Monday morning after officers responded to a break and enter at a Korah Road business.

The suspect, 28-year-old Cody Rousseau, was placed under investigative detention a short time after police arrival, says a news release issued by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. Rousseau was arrested after stolen items were found in his possession.

On Oct. 17, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 28-year-old Cody Rousseau with break and enter.

Around 1:00 a.m. officers responded to a break and enter at a business in the 200 block of Korah Road. Upon arrival officers patrolled the area and located a person matching the description provided walking on Devon Road.

The person, later identified as the accused, was placed under investigative detention. As the investigation unfolded, officers discovered the accused was in possession of items from the business and was arrested. Further investigation discovered the accused had caused damage to property at the business.

The accused is charged with:
    •    Break and enter
    •    Theft under $5,000
    •    Mischief under $5,000

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9, 2023.
