Police respond to call near YMCA

Police responded to the area after receiving a report of a person possibly with a firearm

Members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service were called to the area near the YMCA Thursday evening after receiving a call of a person in the area possibly in possession of a firearm.

Police spokesperson Lincoln Louttit confirmed that police had been called and secured the area.

The investigation remains ongoing though there is no threat to public safety in the area at this time.
