Police say stabbing victim knew his attacker

Police say the victim was hit in the head, and then followed into his apartment by the accused assailant

On Mar. 22, 2017 officers with the Patrol Services Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30-year-old Michael Hodgson of Albert Street West in relation to an assault.

It is alleged that on Mar. 22, the accused engaged in an argument with a male that is known to him. The accused is alleged to have assaulted the victim by striking him in the head while in the hallway of a downtown residence. 

The victim went inside of his apartment and the accused followed him inside. The accused then continued to assault the victim and is alleged to have stabbed him in the leg. 

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The accused was arrested by police and charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of unlawfully in a dwelling and one count of breach of probation. He will appear in bail court today.
