Police say two people ran from stolen vehicle, left meth behind

Two people are facing charges after suspected methamphetamine was found yesterday in a stolen vehicle.

At around 1:30 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie parole officers spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen in a parking lot in the 400 block of Pim Street.

Police say as the officers approached, two people got out of the vehicle and ran off.

Both were soon arrested near Poplar Avenue and Cunningham Road.

Trisha-Lynn Ingram, 33, is charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance

Travis Simons, 45, is charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000
  • Failure to comply with a probation order (two counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance
  • Driving While under suspension (under the Highway Traffic Act)

Both suspects were released on undertakings and are scheduled back in court on Oct. 21, 2024.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and both are considered innocent unless proven guilty.
