Update: Suspect identified
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has identified the suspect relating to an arson and mischief investigation.
We would like to thank the public for assisting us in this matter.
Original release: The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying an unknown male in relation to an arson investigation and an incident of mischief.
It’s alleged in the early morning hours of April 21, 2019 the unknown male was seen lighting a fire at 100 James Street. He then fled the area on foot and was seen a short time later throwing a rock through the window of a business in the 0-100 block of Bay Street.
Both incidents occurred on April 21, 2019 between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.
