Police seize methamphetamine during search

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service has arrested someone for impaired driving following an incident that took place last night. 

In a release issued today, police say at around 10:16 p.m., they observed a running vehicle that was parked on Dundas Street. Upon investigation, they say they  found the accused at the back of the vehicle with the hatch open. After speaking to her, they determined she was impaired by drugs and gave her a standardized field sobriety test, which was failed.  

Police say they also found the accsued to be in possesion of 0.96 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Later, she also failed a drug recognition evaluation. 

As a result, Selena Sampson, 47,was arrested and charged for impaired driving – alcohol and drug, and possession of a controlled substance.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
